very good! got the rainbow roll and we got nigiri. it was a bit expensive, but I thought it was worth it. The rainbow roll was only $14 which is pretty affordable, but most things were a bit pricey ($$/$$$$)
The food was good. The chef was fun and our server was great. They charge too much for hot Tomodachi. The large is $12.00 and at other Japanese restaurants you get 2x the amount for the same price. Overall it was a good experience. We have been a few times and the food is consistent. I'm taking a star away for the serving size of the Tomodachi though.
We went there hoping to not get any tables on a Saturday night, surprisingly it was really open and we got a great view of the ocean. The sushi was definitely worth it. Food was very good including their vegetarian/vegan options. The Italian + Japanese menu was a little worrisome before we went there but definitely can vouch for the authenticity of the Japanese food. Service was also amazing and spot on!!!
If you're looking for a chill and family friendly vibe I'd recommend Bayfront's Teppanyaki experience for the following reasons: 1) generous portions of grub - we ordered shrimp, scallops, chicken, and filet mignon (the best dish was by far the scallops) and had plenty leftover for another meal the next day; 2) Servers were attentive and kind, which as a Mom of three I greatly appreciated; 3) Food was out and prepared quickly, again as a Mom that's a win every day. Only reason I didn't put five stars is the shrimp ended up a little overcooked, but otherwise we really enjoyed the meal and the experience. Mini warning if you have younger kids - the fire does get pretty hot, large, and can startle small children if they're new to teppanyaki, but the water squirters off and on were good for a quick laugh and calm down for all. Thanks Bayfront!
Came here for my daughters Bday who goes to CalPoly Humboldt. Great vibe, great food, and Alex our waiter was awesome. The chef (forgot his name) was also very comical and cooked all the food perfectly. We will definitely back. Thanks for making my daughter's Bday a great experience.
